Discount summary

Stacked discounts are applied in order: sale, then coupon, then fixed amount.

How to use the discount calculator

1

Enter the price

Type the original price of the product and pick your currency — Pakistani Rupee (Rs) by default, with USD, EUR, GBP, INR, AED, SAR, CAD and AUD also available.

2

Add every discount

Fill in the sale percentage, any promo or coupon code percentage, and an optional flat amount off. Leave the fields empty if they do not apply.

3

Add sales tax if needed

Enter the VAT or sales tax percentage; it is applied to the discounted price exactly like a real till does.

4

Reverse the maths

Switch to “Find the original price”, type what you actually paid and the discounts, and the tool works backwards to reveal the price before the sale.

Discount & savings calculator — frequently asked questions

The tool applies them in the order a shop does: first the sale percentage, then the promo or coupon percentage on the reduced price, and finally the flat amount off. Tax is then added on the discounted amount. This is why stacking a 25% sale with a 10% coupon gives 32.5% off rather than 35% — each discount applies to a smaller base.

It is the true saving expressed against the original price, so it captures every discount at once. A 25% sale plus a 10% coupon plus a flat 500 off on a 12,000 item produces an effective discount of about 36.4% — a number that is far more honest than quoting the biggest single headline number.

Reverse mode answers “what was this really worth?”. It divides the price you paid by every discount multiplier to recover the original price, then tells you how much you saved and the effective percentage. It is handy when a shop claims a heavy discount and you want to check whether the “was” price was real.

Only if you type it. The tax field applies the given percentage to the discounted price, which matches how VAT is charged at the counter in most countries. In Pakistan, FBR withholding on card payments and on cash withdrawals above the daily limit is separate from sales tax, so check your bank’s fee schedule as well if you are paying by card.
