The price already includes GST — the tool will pull the tax back out.

Inclusive means the price on the bill already contains the tax, so the tool extracts the base value and the tax. Exclusive means the tax is added on top of the given price.

Add one row per GST slab. Each row is taxed at its own rate and the results are added together — handy for a mixed invoice or a restaurant bill.

How to calculate GST

1

Pick the right mode

Choose GST Inclusive when the price on the bill already includes tax, GST Exclusive to add tax on top of a base price, or Multiple Slabs for a mixed invoice.

2

Enter the amount and rate

Type the price and select a standard slab such as 5%, 12%, 18% or 28%, or switch to a custom rate for anything unusual.

3

Split the bill across slabs

In Multiple Slabs mode add a row per rate and amount, then read the per-slab breakdown table under the totals.

4

Copy or export the breakdown

Copy the readable breakdown for an email or download the slab table as a CSV file for your records.

GST & sales tax calculator — frequently asked questions

An inclusive price already contains the tax — a Rs 11,800 bill at 18% GST contains Rs 10,000 of value and Rs 1,800 of tax, so the tool divides by 1.18. An exclusive price is the value before tax, so the tool multiplies it by 1.18 to reach the amount you actually pay. Most shop displays, menus and Pakistani/Indian retail invoices show inclusive prices.

India’s GST structure uses 0%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% slabs, with 3% and 1.5% for gold, rough diamonds and handicrafts and a 0.25% levy on certain goods. Pakistan’s federal GST generally applies standard rates of 5%, 16% and 18%, with reduced rates on essentials and higher rates on luxury and non-essential items. The rate buttons in this tool cover the slabs most people meet; always confirm the exact rate on your invoice.

Add one row for each GST rate and the amount that falls under it. Each row is taxed at its own rate and the tool adds up the base value, the tax and the grand total, while also showing the blended effective rate across the whole invoice. Tick “Amounts already include GST” if the numbers you typed are the gross amounts shown on the bill.

Yes. The tool defaults to Pakistani Rupees (Rs) and also supports USD, EUR, GBP, INR, AED, SAR, CAD and AUD, so you can price the same invoice for a customer in another country. The currency only changes the display — the percentage maths is identical.
