Most offices require a neutral background, a neutral expression, no shadows and the head filling 70–80% of the frame. Print the generated A4 sheet at 100% scale so the cut-out lines match the real size.

Your passport photo never leaves the browser. The crop, the background replacement and the printable A4 sheet are all produced locally with the Canvas API — no uploads, no watermarks, no sign-up.

How to make a passport photo online

1

Upload a portrait

Choose a recent, front-facing photo with a neutral expression. A file of at least 600 × 600 pixels gives the best print quality.

2

Frame the face

Drag the crop rectangle over the head and shoulders, or drag the blue corner handle to make the frame bigger or smaller.

3

Choose the standard

Switch between 2 × 2 inch (51 × 51 mm) and 35 × 45 mm, pick 300 or 600 DPI and select the background colour required by your country.

4

Download and print

Save the single photo as a PNG or download the A4 sheet with cut-out guides and dozens of identical copies, then print it at 100% scale.

Passport photo maker — frequently asked questions

Two standards cover almost every country: the United States and Canada use 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm), while the UK, EU, India, Schengen, Australia and most Asian countries ask for 35 × 45 mm. Both are generated here at 300 DPI (600 × 600 px and 413 × 531 px) with the option of 600 DPI for extra sharpness.

Pick the colour from the “Background colour” dropdown. White and off-white are the most widely accepted, blue and red are required for some US and visa applications, and transparent keeps the alpha channel for later editing. Always check the exact requirement of the authority that will receive your photo.

Use the “Download A4 print sheet” button. It generates a full A4 page at 300 DPI (2480 × 3508 px) that repeats the photo in a grid with dashed cut-out lines and a small caption. Print that PDF or image at 100% scale (no “fit to page”) so the photos come out at their true physical size.

No — and that is deliberate, because every country asks for slightly different framing. Use the drag handle until the top of the head has a small gap, the chin sits comfortably above the lower guide and the shoulders are visible. The aspect ratio is locked to the chosen standard so the photo can never be stretched.
